The focus is often more on profits than patients.

Insurance Companies:

Give patients less care (less visits, less services, less time,)
Give providers less reimbursement (pay the medical providers less leads to them compensating by seeing more patients and giving lower quality of care)
Give the higher level corporate employees huge bonuses

Medical Companies:

Are focused on profits in a system where insurances are decreasing what they pay
This leads to the CEOs making monetary decisions to pay their employees less, give their patients less, and give their customers less quality

These two problems create great profit for the companies, while leaving patients with poor care.

I’ve seen this over and over when someone is discharged from a hospital or skilled nursing facility.

There is still a long road to recovery.
