For Your Body
1. Every couple years there's a new metric to measure aging and longevity. These inevitably become a fun and trendy challenge to the public.
Your friend tells you if you can't get up off the ground without using your arms you're gonna die. Or your brother in law becomes obsessed with grip strength. Or your spouse gets fixated on building muscle mass for longevity.
But you can outlive them all if you focus on power. Because the latest research is demonstrating that muscle power beats all of these metrics (and more). #CantGoWrongGettinStrong
2. Aaron loves the NBA. He followed Tyrese Haliburton’s injury progression. First he suggested he shouldn’t play in Game 6 & 7 because of the risk of tearing his achilles. And here’s his reaction to when he did tear his achilles in game 7.
3. It’s important to understand that tendon health starts with load tolerance.
“The difference between poison and medicine…is often dosage"
4. For many non-professional athletes, the problem isn’t over training. It’s under recovering.
5. EXERCISE OF THE MONTH: Inner Range Calf Raise Isometric
This is also a great way to check for strength and risk of injury
The key is to get as high as you can with both legs, before lifting one leg off
If you lose height when you lift one leg off, you may be at risk of injury
For Your Mind
6. Researchers have found that a single dose of psilocybin may help people with depression for as long as a year.

9. How to get the most out of Forrest bathing
10. Massage can improve circulation, sleep quality, immune response, and mood. It can also reduce anxiety, muscle tension, pain, and inflammation.
If you need a massage, we highly recommend Crystal at Avena Bodywork. She’s very talented and is able to perfectly balance the therapeutic and relaxing phases of bodywork.

Texas
We are very saddened by the tragic flooding in Texas. Since Helene, we have had a new level of empathy when seeing the destruction of natural disasters in the news.
They need a lot of help. I've heard the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund is a good one to donate to.
