Success Stories #1 - Fixing IT Band Pain in 1 Visit

A patient recently came in with left-sided IT band pain along the outside of his knee. It was beginning to interfere with both his running and workouts.

A thorough assessment revealed a significant loss of flexibility in his rectus femoris—one of the quadriceps muscles. This restriction appeared to be contributing to excessive external rotation of his tibia, placing additional stress on the outside of his knee.

During the initial evaluation, he received dry needling, manual therapy, and just one specific exercise to perform at home.

Two days later, he texted me to say he was already 90% better. By his follow-up appointment, the pain and discomfort had completely resolved.

We then added a few exercises to address other areas of weakness and reduce the likelihood of the problem returning.
